RECYCLING FEST RELOADED

Non-profit association ALUCRO organizes on 9, 10 and 11 of July, on the Caribbean beach in Costinesti, between 10.00 a.m -06.00 p.m. the event named RECYCLING FEST RELOADED.

The event aims to inform and raise citizens' awareness of the importance of collecting and recycling of aluminum cans, aluminum being 100% recyclable. By this initiative is intended to promote recycling of cans, while helping to protect the environment, saving resources and energy to our benefit and future generations.

Tourists, and not only tourist, are invited to keep cans of aluminum after consuming the content and come with at least 15 cans on the beach, to the organizers tent where they will receive in return a full can of Bergenbier beer / Bergenbier without alcohol beer or Pepsi, Mirinda, Mountain Dew juice. This represents the minimum amount to join the raffle that will be held Sunday, August 30, whose BIG PRIZE is a digital camera; 4 mp3 players come to complete list of prizes.

Will be an interactive event, with awards, animation, face painting, games and fun.

RECYCLING FEST RELOADED is part of an extensive campaign designed to promote collection and recycling of aluminum cans, which will be conducted in several cities throughout 2010.

RECYCLING OF ALUMINUM CANS IS GROWING IN EU TO 63%!

PRESS RELEASE Brussels, May 27, 2010

Overall recycling of beverage cans of aluminum in the 27 EU states, including the countries EFTA and TURKEY, was improved in 2008 and has now reached 63.1%. It improved from 61.8% in 2007 and 57.7% in 2006. This increase of 5.4% over the past two years is an impressive addition to reduction in carbon footprint so it is saved the equivalent of 310,000 tons of CO2.

The total number of beverage cans of aluminum consumed in Europe increased from 32 billion in 2007 to nearly 34 billion units in 2008, resulting in an increase of 70% in aluminum cans market across Europe.

In Europe consumers use an average of 42 doses of aluminum per capita. The consumption of aluminum cans in Western Europe increased while in most of the countries from Central and East European consumption remained stable.
